EPA Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP) Certified

Finest Fix, LLC is an EPA Lead-Safe Certified Firm, which means that we comply with the EPA's requirements to prevent lead contamination when doing work that may disturb lead-based paint as part of renovations or repairs. We do not do lead abatement (that is a different certification).

If your property was built before 1978, there is a chance it may contain lead-based paint. If it is determined that our work may disturb lead-based paint, we are obligated to work in a "lead-safe" manner:

1. We will have the proper PPE for our workers.

2. We will contain any lead dust, by using plastic sheeting, as needed.

3. We will clean up by vacuuming and wiping down exposed surfaces.

4. We will put up the proper warning signs in the work area as needed, and provide the owner with a copy of the 'Renovate Right" pamphlet (available for download below).

(Note: EPA allows some of the requirements to be waived in the case of emergency work, but this may result in additional clean-up).

The amount of PPE, containment, and clean-up will be dependent on the amount of lead-disturbance, according to the following levels:

LEVEL 1:     Less than 20 SF of disturbance                       ($60 Surcharge)

Worker will wear N100 mask; work wet only; place trash bag or plastic below the work area as needed.

Place plastic sheeting over duct vents and furnishings that may get contaminated.

Final clean up with HEPA vacuum, and wipe down the area.

LEVEL 2:     20 SF - 50 SF (walls only)                                 ($90 Surcharge)

Worker will wear N100 mask and disposable coveralls; work wet only; place plastic sheeting on floor a minimum of 6 ft. beyond any area of disturbance.

Place plastic sheeting over duct vents and furnishings that may get contaminated.

Final clean up with HEPA vacuum, and wipe down the area.

LEVEL 3:     Over 50 SF of wall area, or any ceiling area    ($150 Surcharge)

Worker will wear N100 mask and disposable coveralls; work wet only; place plastic sheeting on floor  and vertical plastic sheeting from floor to ceiling, around the work area.

Place plastic sheeting over duct vents and furnishings that may get contaminated.

Final clean up with HEPA vacuum, and wipe down the area.
